About the event

Beaded Heart Earrings - An Afternoon Beading Workshop

Join me in my studio for a Saturday afternoon of crafting in good company as you make your own pair of hand-beaded heart earrings. I’ll provide a Valentine’s Day array of sweet-colored beads and the tools and materials you need. Just bring your curiosity and desire to unwind and work with your hands.

You'll leave this 2.5 hour workshop with a finished pair of earrings and the joy of having made them yourself. No experience necessary. Just bring your good energy and a willingness to focus on slow beadwork.

Includes: All materials + guidance

Skill: Beginner / All levels

Capacity: Limited to 10 participants

Photo reference: The beaded backdrop for these heart earrings is from a work called Ossangne Gouegui Malor, 2006-2009, by artist Myrlande Constant from the collection of Maggie Steber, as noted in the catalogue Myrlande Constant: The Work of Radiance, organized by the Fowler Museum at UCLA in Los Angeles and curated by Katherine Smith, Fowler curatorial and research associate of Haitian arts, and Jerry Philogene, associate professor of American Studies at Dickinson College, PA. Myrlande Constant is a visual artist from Haiti and she is celebrated as one of the first women to work with Vodou drapo, a traditional Haitian flag art utilizing bead and sequin embroidery.
